Free State police need help to find 26-year-old from Ladybrand─── REFILWE BEKANE 10:30 Thu, 29 Jan 2026
Ladybrand police are urgently calling on the local community to help find a missing 26-year-old.
Khothatso None’s father, Nam Surnam, 69, sent him to town to buy groceries on Saturday (24/1), but the young man failed to return home. Desperate for answers, his father reached out to None’s friends.
They claimed to have seen him in the town centre, but said he was in the company of people unknown to them.
At the time of his disappearance, Khothatso was wearing a grey T-shirt, blue jeans, white Nike sneakers, and a red cap. An enquiry has been opened, and police investigations remain ongoing.
In a separate and unrelated case, the police in Brits are requesting the community’s assistance to find Jobi Kgomotso Motsumi, 27.
“He was last seen by his mother in November 2020 when he departed from home due to a compelling matter,” said Cst. Thuto Bobelo.
His mother has informed authorities that Motsumi is not mentally stable. Despite extensive search operations and preliminary investigations conducted in and around Brits, there have been no positive leads.
Motsumi is described as having a fair complexion and a slender build. Due to the passage of time, the specific clothing he was wearing at the time of his disappearance remains unknown.
