Detectives in Park Road, Bloemfontein, are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying human skeletal remains discovered on Friday, 13 March.
The police were summoned to the N1 South Bridge near the Windmill Casino after construction workers discovered a human skull inside a plastic bag. Upon further investigation at the scene, police uncovered a full human skeleton wrapped in two blankets and a sheet.
The remains had been hidden under nine plastic bags and were later transported to a government mortuary for forensic examination.

The forensic report indicates that the deceased suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the right side of the upper rib cage. At the time of discovery, the remains were clothed in a navy blue Jonathan D jacket, a yellow T-shirt, and black denim jeans. A single left-foot Lacoste shoe was also found at the scene.
