Police in Sasolburg are appealing to members of the public for urgent assistance in locating a 46-year-old, who has been reported missing.

According to official police reports, Lerato Anna Motaung left her home on Wednesday (6/5) at around 08:00. Her intended purpose for leaving was to receive medical treatment at a hospital. However, she has not returned home since that date, causing deep concern for her safety.

Her cousin told officers all attempts to contact Motaung on her cellphone have been unsuccessful. The family has indicated they are unaware of the specific hospital she planned to visit, and they could not describe the clothing she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

Members of the public who may have any information regarding the current whereabouts of Motaung are urged to come forward. Anyone with relevant details can directly contact Det. Sgt Tryphina Radebe on 082 466 7939. Alternatively, call Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or submit anonymous tip-offs through the MySAPS app.

Meanwhile, in a separate and unrelated matter, the Bloemfontein anti-corruption investigations unit is requesting assistance from members of the public to help locate Pulane Rosta Modimolla, 39.

Free State police spokesperson Sgt. Palesa Thabana said investigators believe Modimolla may have information that could assist the police with an ongoing case of fraud. The criminal incident in question originally happened in Welkom in August 2021.

Extensive efforts to locate Modimolla have all been unsuccessful thus far. As a direct result of her being untraceable, a formal warrant of arrest has now been issued against her.

Police are urging anyone with concrete information that could lead to tracking down the whereabouts of Modimolla to come forward immediately. Members of the community who have any information can make direct contact with Capt. Lehlohonolo Pule of the anti-corruption investigations unit by calling 082 372 3347.

Alternatively, call Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or submit anonymous tip-offs through the MySAPS app.
