Goldfields police have launched an investigation following the disappearance of a 57-year-old.

Martiens Mvala dissapeared outside Bongani Hospital on Tuesday (19/5) and was last seen at approximately 15:45. He had been seated outside the hospital facility while waiting for his daughter, who was inside collecting his medication from the pharmacy.

When the daughter returned from the pharmacy, Mvala was no longer there. Efforts by the family to locate him were unsuccessful, leading to a formal missing person report being filed.

Free State police spokesperson Sgt Palesa Thabana said the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear and are currently under active investigation. Mvala was last seen wearing blue check trousers, a maroon jersey, a cream jacket, black and white Vans sneakers, and a grey beanie.

Members of the public who know any information regarding the whereabouts of Martiens Mvala are requested to contact the Welkom police directly on 079 886 5574.

Meanwhile, local authorities are requesting assistance from the public to locate Mojalefa Isaac Lesebawho who has been reported missing in Thabong.

Information released by investigators shows the 54-year-old was last seen on Monday (18/5) at approximately 22:00. There has been no communication or contact from him since that time. A missing person case file has been formally registered with the police to initiate further investigation into his whereabouts.

According to the police report detectives are interviewing neighbours and mapping his known walking routes to establish a definitive timeline of events, said Thabana.

Lesebawho is described by authorities as being tall, slender, and fair in complexion. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing black jeans and a cream jersey.
