The injured patient was stabilised before being transported to Albert Nzula Hospital in Trompsburg. Towa said law enforcement agencies remained at the scene until the accident site was cleared.
Despite the collision, the road carriageway was not affected, allowing traffic to continue flowing past the scene.
Meanwhile, another accident was reported later on the R57 between Sasolburg and Heilbron. The collision involved a truck, a bakkie and a motorcycle, leaving one person with moderate injuries and two others with minor injuries.
Emergency medical services, including EMS and ER24, transported the injured patients to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

He advised drivers to reduce their speed, remain alert for debris, and obey road signs and instructions from traffic officials.
