The VKB Knights seamer, Duanne Olivier, has been called up to the Proteas One-Day International squad for the first time in his career.
The team management has opted to rest both the wicket-keeper, Quinton de Kock, and the veteran seamer, Dale Steyn, for the upcoming series against Pakistan.
This sees both Olivier and Aiden Markram being included in the squad.
During the recent three-Test series against Pakistan, Olivier, was named as the Player of the Series, thanks to his 24 wickets.
The ODI series starts on Saturday with the first match taking place at St Georges' Park in Port Elizabeth.
The second game will be contested on Monday at Kingsmead in Durban.
