The cricket match planned for SuperSport Park in Centurion would have hosted the first-ever cricket match seeing three teams going head-to-head in a single game.

Last week Cricket South Africa launched the latest format in the sport, and the Director of Cricket, Graeme Smith, confirmed that they had obtained the necessary permission for the match to go ahead.

CSA has stated that more is needed in preparation, and this includes approval from the government.

“The operational teams behind the Solidarity match and event partners in collaboration with Cricket South Africa, 3TCricket and SuperSport met to consider the readiness to host the event on 27th June.

“Following this meeting, it has become clear that more work is needed in preparation including approval.”

A new date for the 3TC match will be announced in due course.
