As of yet, the squad may not start training until they are given the all-clear by Cricket South Africa and government.

As it stands the teams are still working on their fitness, while the High Performance players are going at it full tilt.

Van Biljon, who is also a high performance player, but is recovering for surgery told OFM Sport that they are all keen to get the show on the road.

“The guys are very excited and there is a good vibe within the team”, said the Proteas batsman.

“Obviously Allan Donald and the coaches are also very keen to get going and to get the show on the road.

“It is going to be a very big season for everyone especially with everything that is going on now.

“I think it’s going to be the team that has best started that will get the momentum the quickest and the confidence will grow from there.”

It is expected that the domestic season will get underway on 1 November.
