Cricket South Africa and their Caribbean counterparts have been working tirelessly to fit the series in the schedule, however, the slot they were targeting will most likely be allocated to the Indian Premier League.

Director of Cricket, Graeme Smith, says if all goes well, the Proteas men could be in action as of November.

“The West Indies tour has been postponed indefinitely.

“We are struggling to find the time with the Indian Premier League when our players are likely to be needed from the beginning of September.

“In terms of when we will get back onto the field, we are probably looking at November onwards. And if all goes well, it will then be a very busy period for South African cricket, playing series at times when we don’t usually play.

“It will be a case of trying to cram in all the tours that have been missed.”

Meanwhile, England could be heading to South Africa for a short tour in December, and it is believed that the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein could host either an ODI or T20 International.
