Hafeez in doubt after breaching bio-bubble protocols─── MORGAN PIEK 09:11 Thu, 13 Aug 2020
England and Pakistan go head-to-head as of Thursday in the second of three Tests. This time, the two teams will play in Southampton after the English played their last three Tests at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Pakistan may be without the services of the 39-year-old opening batsman, Mohammad Hafeez.
Hafeez has gone into self-isolation after breaching the teams Covid-19 protocols on the golf course which is part of the bio-safe bubble.
Hafeez was seen in a photo on social media with a fan, and not adhering to social distancing protocols.
He has undergone a test and the camp expects the result before play.
He has come off rather light compared to the English captain, Joe Root, and the West Indies coach, Phil Simmons. Both were asked to self-isolate for five days and return two negative tests. Root left the bio-bubble for the birth of his child, while Simmons attended a funeral.
The English seamer, Jofra Archer, in his turn also had to isolate for five days.
England in their turn will be without the all-rounder, Ben Stokes, who has returned for his native New Zealand to attend to a family emergency.
Play at the Ageas Bowl is scheduled to get underway at noon.
