Apart from the Solidarity Cup in July, not cricket has been played in South Africa since March, albeit, it was the off-season.

The Knights are planning to start with inter-squad matches in early October for some valuable time in the middle.

Donald told OFM Sport that the lockdown has been a blessing for them.

“It’s actually been a blessing in disguise. We’ve really had a chance, and I think the best way to sometime work is one-on-one.

“Every week you spend so much time with that particular person from a bowling or batting point of view is gold dust.

“We got to know these guys so much better and this goes for their personalities and their games.”

Meanwhile, the young and exciting seamer, Gerald Coetzee, is excited about the upcoming season, and he feels that the season will have a certain level of mystery about it.

“Everyone in the squad is excited about the upcoming season.

“It’s going to be a really packed and competitive season. We don’t really know what we will be playing for, and I guess that makes it more exciting.

“We prepared really well and I reckon the only thing left to do now it to get out on the pitch and go and compete.

The Knights are set to face the Warriors in Bloemfontein in their first game of the season.
