After seven months without any domestic cricket, the players and the technical teams are ready to take to the park once more.

The Knights host the Warriors first, and with the team from Eastern Cape being coached by the former Knights and Proteas spinner, Robin Peterson, they expect a tough outing.

Junior Proteas and Knights wicketkeeper, Wandile Makwetu, told OFM Sport that there were some positives to come from the lockdown.

“The boys are really looking forward to next week Monday. It’s been a really long preseason for us.

“As much as the lockdown was frustrating, we had a really good opportunity to hone in on our skills for the better part of the last four to five months.

“So, we’ve been working really hard on our skills and now we are just raring to go.

“The boys are looking really sharp in training and it’s been a long break away from the game.”

Play at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein begins at 10:00 on Monday morning.
