Van Biljon lauds Razors' knock─── MORGAN PIEK 08:34 Tue, 10 Nov 2020
The VKB Knights are happy with their total after day one of the CSA 4-day match against the Dolphins being played at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
On a slightly greener pitch to the one from last week, the Knights were on 323/7 at stumps, largely thanks to an outstanding and patient 119 not out by the number three batsman, Raynard van Tonder.
The opener, Matthew Kleinveldt, contributed with a solid knock of 44, while the two Proteas, Pite van Biljon and Farhaan Behardien, each added 39 runs to the scoreboard.
The captain, Van Biljon, told OFM Sport that Van Tonder held the innings together.
“Razor took control there, held up an end, batted through the day and we are happy with that.
“All of us are batting really nicely, but Tuesday was obviously his day, where he took it through and he was solid and played a couple of nice shots as well.
“The guy has serious talent and if he can change his game like he did to suit the situation he is going to have another good season.
“He is batting really well and hopefully on Tuesday he can score a few more runs for us.”
Play in Bloemfontein is set to resume at 10:00 on Tuesday morning, providing the weather doesn't have the final say.
