Knights keeper, Makwetu, withdrawn following passing of his dad─── MORGAN PIEK 11:26 Thu, 12 Nov 2020

The VKB Knights have sent their condolences to the team's wicket-keeper and batsman, Wandile Makwetu.
The former South Africa U19 star, is the son of the late outgoing Auditor-General, Kimi Makwetu.
The 54-year-old Makwetu passed away on Wednesday after losing his battle to cancer. He was diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago, and it had progressed to stage four.
Wandile was involved in the Knights CSA 4-Day Series match against the Dolphins in Bloemfontein up until the close of play on Wednesday.
He has been withdrawn from the match for the final day at the Mangaung Oval, and Andries Gous, has taken over the wicket-keeping duties as the Knights hunt for a second win of the season.
In a brief statement the Knights expressed their deepest sympathy to the Makwetu family
"On behalf of the President and Board of the Free State Cricket Union and VKB Knights - our deepest condolences to vice-captain Wandile Makwetu on the passing of his father, outgoing Auditor-General Kimi Makwetu.
"Our thoughts are with Wandile and his entire family."
In 2018, Makwetu, was one of three South Africa’s named in the team of the tournament of the ICC’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. The other two players are his current Knights teammates, Raynard van Tonder and Gerald Coetzee.
