It's almost like luxury prisons we are in - Rabada─── MORGAN PIEK 16:06 Mon, 23 Nov 2020
International cricket will be making a return to South Africa this week with the Proteas and England going head-to-head in the Cape.
The Proteas and the English will square off in a series of six matches which will include three T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals.
The English have been in isolation in Cape Town for six days already, while the Proteas have had a couple of Covid-19 setbacks.
Proteas seamer, Kagiso Rabada, says it can be quite tough living in a bio-safe bubble, but ultimately they get to do what they love doing, while other people in the country are battling to survive.
“It can be quite tough. You can't interact. You've basically lost your freedom.
“It's almost like luxury prisons we are in. But we have to remind ourselves that we are fortunate.
“People have lost their jobs, people are struggling at the moment, so we must be grateful for the opportunity we have been given to make some money and to do what we love.
“We don't get treated too badly. We stay in great hotels. We get the best food. It's like a spoilt kid not getting what they want at the candy store.
“It can be quite tough because you are surrounded by four walls the whole time and that can be a factor mentally.
“But just remind yourself of all the good things that are happening and once we start playing, it will take away from the desolate times.”
The first T20 International will be played on Friday at Newlands.
