The VKB Knights suffered their second successive away defeat in the CSA 4-Day Series after losing to the Dolphins by five wickets at Kingsmead in Durban.

The Central Franchise began day three on 150/2 and a 13-run lead after fighting back on day two.

The Knights, however, lost their next eight wickets for just 63 runs as they were bowled out for 213 in 85.2 overs.

Matthew Kleinveldt top-scored with 77, Raynard van Tonder added 46 and Jonathan Vandiar contributed with 34.

Daryn Dupavillon, who took seven wickets in the Knights' first innings, was once again the chief destroyer for the Dolphins with 4/66 in 18.2 overs.

It meant that Dupavillon ended with a career-best 11/104 and the second ten-for of his first-class career. It was also the best bowling by a seamer in the history of the fixture. Senuran Muthusamy in his turn took 3/45 in 23 overs.

The Dolphins managed to chase down the small target in just 20.2 overs, but not before the Knights managed to claim five wickets.

The captain, Shaun von Berg, bagged three wickets for 12 runs in 5.2 overs, while Gerald Coetzee and Patrick Botha claimed a scalp apiece.

The former Knight, Keegan Petersen, top-scored for the home side with 28*.
