Knights welcome the return of Razor─── MORGAN PIEK 16:01 Tue, 16 Feb 2021
The VKB Knights have received a major boost ahead of their CSA T20 campaign which gets underway this weekend in Durban.
The hard-hitting number three batsman, Raynard van Tonder, has been included in the squad which entered the bio-safe environment.
Van Tonder has recovered from a fractured finger which saw him being released from the Proteas Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka in December last year.
Knights coach, Allan Donald, told OFM Sport that he welcomes the selection headache that awaits.
“The selection is going to be hard. A few guys might be missing out because there are a few guys that are playing well.
“Raynard van Tonder is back and he playing beautifully. His finger is all good and he is good to go.
“That just makes selecting a team that much harder.
“Some guys will miss our first game. I think because of the shortened competition, it makes it harder because you don't want to make wholesale changes to the team for each game.”
The Knights open their campaign against the Titans at Kingsmead on Friday morning at 10:00.
