The VKB Knights will settle for nothing less than a win this week when they face the Cape Cobras in the final round of pool matches in the CSA 4-Day Series.
A win for the Knights will mean that they have the honour of hosting the final of the series at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
Should all three of this week’s matches end in a draw, the Knights can still finish at the top of Pool A, but it is a chance they are not willing to take.
The Knights assistant coach, JP Triegaardt, told OFM Sport that they must just stick to what they have been doing.
“Under their conditions, they do play really well, and to have their Proteas player back will be massive for them.
“It’s going to be a dogfight, to be honest, and it's going to be one of those games where you need to pull strings together, play well as a team and be consistent in all disciplines of the game.
“We are pretty much excited about the game and we just hope that the weather holds out for us to have another four days of decent cricket.”
Play at Newlands is scheduled to get underway at 10:00.
