Over the weekend the Proteas recorded a historic series victory over India by winning the 1st match by eight wickets and the 2nd by six wickets.

The Proteas batter, Laura Wolvaardt, says the tour has seen the team’s depth grow to a level it has never been before.

“In the past one of the gaps between us and the big nations was the depth.

“If we have a key player like Dané van Niekerk missing out on tour it would be very tough to fill a spot.

“I'm extremely proud of how a lot of the young and inexperienced players stepped up during this tour.

“Some healthy competition as a whole would be very good for our side going forward as we will just be raising the bar for each other.”

Play at the Ekana Cricket Stadium is set to get underway at 15:30 on Tuesday afternoon.
