The Free State Knights fast bowler, Gerald Coetzee, is on his way to India where he will be playing in the Indian Premier League for the Rajasthan Royals.

England’s Liam Livingstone withdrew himself from the Royals, citing bubble fatigue as the reason for walking out.

This led to the Proteas batsman, Rassie van der Dussen, linked with his first trip to the IPL, however, this did not pan out.

Coetzee told OFM Sport that he is excited to play with and against his heroes.

“It is a massive privilege and I am very excited.

“I grew up watching the IPL and looking at most of these guys as my heroes.

“Now they are my opponents and teammates.

“It's a very good learning opportunity. It's a very good opportunity for me to grow as a cricketer and I am very excited about it.”

Coetzee consistently bowls at 145km/h, while he is also no slouch with the bat.

The Royals next match in the IPL is on Wednesday when they host the Chennai Super Kings in Delhi.
