The Proteas won the fifth and final T20 by 25 runs on Saturday for a rare limited overs series win in recent times.

The mere fact that the Windies are the reigning T20 world champions will also give the men in green a tremendous boost.

The Proteas coach, Mark Boucher, said they have now proven that they can beat any team.

“It's big, we played a really good solid game today.

“There are still places where we can improve, but I think the confidence we can take from this against a really good T20 unit with a lot of experience is going to be immense for us.

“We've got a team that, if we rock up on the day, we could possibly beat anyone.”

The Proteas will face Ireland on Sunday at The Village in Dublin in the first of three One-Day Internationals.
