Pretorius, who will be playing for the Jamaica Tallawahs, is one of just six South Africans to play in the tournament.

Pretorius has been knocking on the door of the Proteas for the past year or so that he has been at the Knights.

However, he is yet to play for the national team after having been called up twice in the past.

Another former Knights player, André Russell, is also part of the Tallawahs. The West Indies all-rounder had a stint at the Knights a few seasons ago and made a big impact on the team.

Apart from being able to destroy any team's batting line-up, Pretorius, has more than proven that he can also be very destructive with the bat.

Other South Africans playing in the tournament are Chris Morris, Imran Tahir, Rassie van der Dussen, Anrich Nortjé, and Faf du Plessis.

The 2021 CPL T20 will be played from 26 August to 15 September and all 33 matches will be played in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
