The Proteas men’s cricket team will be using their tour to Sri Lanka to build on their confidence ahead of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

The Proteas will face Sri Lanka in a One-Day International as well as a T20 International series.

The Proteas head to the subcontinent on the back of a T20I series win over West Indies and Ireland.

First up, the Proteas will play in the 50-over format.

The Proteas captain, Temba Bavuma, emphasised the importance on building on their confidence.

“It will be important for this group to understand why is it that we were able to get the positives results and to make sure that we replicate those type performances going forward.

“With this group is it just a One-Day, but it is part our build-up to the World Cup in terms of building on our confidence and mastering our style of play.”
