Four Knights lined up for incoming India A tour─── MORGAN PIEK 08:34 Mon, 13 Sep 2021
The Itec Knights are expected to have at least four of the players representing South Africa A against India A in Bloemfontein later in the year. India A will tour the country to face SA A in three unofficial Tests in Bloemfontein.
At this stage it is anyone guess who these four players are but it will come as no surprise if it is Raynard van Tonder, Migael Pretorius, Gerald Coetzee and Wandile Makwetu.
The Knights also do have the two Proteas, Pite van Biljon and Jacques Snyman, who are both in good form with the bat following their summer in the United Kingdom.
Knights CEO, Johan van Heerden, told OFM Sport that they are excited to have international cricket and possibly fans as well.
“It's an absolutely wonderful time and it so nice to see than we are getting Covid behind us and that we can move forward.
“It is predicated that if you are vaccinated, maybe stadiums will be able to open, so we are all very excited about that.
“India A would most probably be able to select three sides equal to any strength around the world.
“We have been informed that four of our players have been included into the SA A side.
“For us it's great to bring cricket to Bloemfontein.
“Maybe for us it would be a little too soon to have open stadiums, but it seems as from January that would be the norm.”
The 1st unofficial Test will be played from 26 to 29 November at the Mangaung Oval.
