Knights fit and ready for quarter-finals─── 07:25 Tue, 19 Oct 2021
The Itec Knights are geared for the T20 Knockout when they take on Western Province in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.
Head coach for the Knights, Allan Donald, says that “after some injury scares from players Rilee Rossouw and Farhaan Behardien, we are happy to report they are absolutely fine, motivated and we are looking forward to seeing them back.
“A special thanks for Grey College that prepared exceptional training facilities where we spend the last few days preparing for the upcoming quarter-finals.
“We couldn’t be more ready and fit and are very excited for our encounter against Western Province.
“We know that they are a quality side and Wayne Parnell and his troops will definitely be highly motivated to try and take us down.
The pitches in Kimberley have taken a fair amount of traffic through the competition, and we are expecting them to slow down and might even take a bit of a turn but we are confident that the training this week was to replicate what we might get in Kimberley.
“We are looking forward to a great encounter.”
Captain Pite van Biljon added that “our preparations have gone very well with conditions similar to what we will face in Kimberley.
“We are very happy with our first round of performances and hopefully we can carry our form and confidence into the knockout round.”
Play at the Diamond Oval is set to get underway at 14:30.
