The left-handed North West Dragons batter was included in the squad and he will be hoping to impress the Proteas selectors ahead of the Test series against India.

Muthusamy made his Test debut for South Africa during their 2019 tour of India. Will he has only played two Tests, which were both against India on the subcontinent, he does have a highest score of 49* and has two wickets to his record.

Muthusamy told OFM Sport that for now his focus is still at the Dragons.

“It's great to be in the South Africa A team to play against India A.

“It's just great to play some more four-day cricket I suppose. It's always a good challenge.

“It has been a tough start to the season here at the North West Dragons, but hopefully we can turn that around in the next few weeks.

“All my focus will turn to the SA A and just giving my best with the bat, ball, in the field and to my teammates.

“I will do my best to make sure that we get over the line.”

The first unofficial Test at the Mangaung Oval gets underway on 23 November.
