Knights forced to settle for a draw against Dolphins─── MORGAN PIEK 08:29 Mon, 22 Nov 2021
The Dolphins and the Itec Knights played to a draw in their CSA Division 1 4-Day game at Kingsmead in Durban.
The Knights declared their first innings 397/4 with the opening batter, Matthew Kleinveldt unbeaten on 177, while Jacques Snyman scored 94.
When play was called yesterday on day four the Dolphins were on 174/5 in their second innings, with a two-run lead.
This season the Knights remain second on the table, while the Dolphins drop to fifth, with the Warriors moving up to third while the Titans moved up to fifth following their maiden win of the series.
This week it will be a top-of-the-table clash when the Lions host the Knights at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
Over in Potchefstroom, the Warriors beat the North West Dragons by 130 runs.
Divisions 2, the Northern Cape Heat came agonisingly close to beating the Limpopo Impalas, only for the rain to force a draw.
The Heat needed just four runs to secure the win before the heavens opened up and brought an end to play.
