The host Australia have been dealt a big blow against the second Ashes Test against England in Adelaide. The fast bowler, Josh Hazlewood, has been ruled out of the Test in South Australia due to a side strain.

He has been replaced in the squad for the 2nd Test by the Western Australia quick, Jhye Richardson.

Hazelwood bowled just 13 overs in the English first innings at the Gabba, while he put in 14 overs in the second innings.

Losing Hazlewood is a significant blow ahead of the day-night fixture in Adelaide as he boasts an impressive pink-ball record of 32 wickets at 19.90.

The Baggy Greens lead the Ashes 1-0 after winning last week’s 1st Test in Brisbane by 9 wickets.

The day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval will get underway at 06:00 on Thursday morning.

Squads:

Australia - Pat Cummins (captain), Steve Smith, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Marcus Harris, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Michael Neser, Jhye Richardson, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Swepson, David Warner.
