The national side's confidence is high following their recent 2-1 Test series victory over the visitors.

South Africa are in desperate need of points in order to try and secure an automatic qualification for the next ICC Cricket World Cup.

The recent cancelation of the series against the Netherlands due to the Omicron variant has put even more pressure on the Proteas.

Left-arm seamer, Marco Jansen, warns that they cannot afford to underestimate India.

“We will obviously take a bit of momentum with us from the Test to the One-day series, but we are not underestimating them at all.

“They are one of the best teams in the world and we will have to bring our A-game and we will be looking to take the fight to them.

“We're just going to have to work hard on our preparations and just be as prepared as possible and give our all on the field.

“It will be nice to get a series win.”

The 1st ODI will be played on Wednesday at Boland Park in Paarl.
