De Kock makes a return to the national side for the first time since his shock retirement from five-day cricket following the 1st Test again India in December.

In that period De Kock and his wife also welcomed their first-born.

Bavuma said it is great to have the destructive batter back in action.

“It's good to see Quinny again, we obviously missed him as the Test team.

“He has made a decision and it's one that we respect.

“Having Quinny within the team has been good. I don't want to put words in his mouth but knowing him, he'll have a point to prove.”

The 1st ODI at Boland Park will get underway on Wednesday morning at 10:30.
