Proteas refreshed after break to reflect─── MORGAN PIEK 09:42 Tue, 22 Feb 2022
The Proteas are back in training ahead of the second Test against New Zealand in Christchurch.
Following their heavy innings and 276 run defeat to the Black Caps in the first Test the players took some time to reflect and regroup.
Should the Proteas manage to win this week’s 2nd Test and forces a series draw they will retain their unbeaten series status against the Black Caps.
The Proteas batter and vice-captain Temba Bavuma said it was important for the players to find themselves again following their disappointing outing in the 1st Test.
“That time was exactly for that. I guess for the players to individually to reflect on their own performances, have a deep look at themselves and to see how they can be better coming into the next game.
“We had that conversation as a team and I guess today is the start of us looking for ways as to how we can get better.”
The 2nd Test at the Hagley Oval begin at midnight on Thursday.
