Rossouw who smashed a career-best and unbeaten 112* runs off 55 balls (7 fours, 8 sixes) and claiming the leading run-scorer during the CSA T20 Knock-out champions will return to the place where his cricket career started.

“To have Rilee back in the One Day Competition is massive for the team, our sponsor Itec, and the union itself. He brings world-class experience to the team and we are delighted and excited to have him back in the camp.”

“With the One-Day competition not being played in a bio-secure environment but throughout the country, plays in our favour as he adapts easily within any playing condition,” says Knights assistant coach JP Triegaardt.

Captain of the Itec Knights, Pite van Biljon, added: “We obviously are all very excited to have Rilee back with us for the 50-over competition. He is a great guy to have in the team. Not only for his “freakish” batting and fielding, but also for the impact he has on all the players and management.”

“He is a born and bred Bloem boy who fully understands what Free State Cricket is about and where we are trying to go.”

“Rilee was instrumental in our 20-over knock-out competition win. Not only did he entertain but he took responsibility. He comes back from a very successful PSL and I’m sure more success will come his and our way.”

Rilee Rossouw reflects on the team's performance during the T20 Knock-out Competition: “The performance of the team had to be top class to win the trophy. I was very impressed with the talent we have here at the Itec Knights but talent is nothing without hard work, the boys worked very hard before and during the competition and was ecstatic when we crossed the finish line first.”

“Obviously we want to win the one-day competition trophy but what I think is more important is the process of getting there day in and day out working hard and working well with each other. It will be amazing if we can get another trophy this season at the Itec Knights. From a personal achievement I want to contribute on and off the field.”
