South Africa will head into the game on the back of their 32-run win over Bangladesh in their opening game of the tournament.

The Proteas will make a late call on the availability of the destructive opening batter, Lizelle Lee.

The next two games for South Africa will be day-night One-Day Internationals and at a new venue.

Proteas vice-captain, Chloe Tryon, told OFM Sport that they have done their homework and they expect spin, especially at night.

“We've watched a little bit of cricket here and I also know that Pakistan has played most of their games here,” said Tryon.

“It does also turn quite a bit here at night. We were fortunate enough to watch them play here and kind of got to see the outfit as well.

“It's a little bit quick and the boundary is bigger, so we expect to run a bit more.

“It was nice to get some time after our first game to watch a quite bit of cricket, but we can expect something from their spinners at night.”

South Africa will also face England in Tauranga.

Play between the Proteas and Pakistan at the Bay Oval in Mount Manganui gets underway on Friday morning at 03:00.
