The Proteas Women’s captain, Suné Luus, as well as the destructive opening batter, Lizelle Lee, will both be playing in their respective 100th One-Day Internationals on Thursday.

The pair will reach the milestone during their ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final against England in Christchurch.

Earlier in the tournament, the former skipper, Mignon du Preez, became the first South African player in 150 ODI’s for the women’s team.

Luus said they will treat the milestone-game the same as any other ODI.

“It's an honour to play for your country. Whether it's just five matches or a hundred matches. Every time you walk onto the field and sing the anthem it remains a special moment and I don't think tomorrow will be any different.

“I know that she is extremely excited, but I also don't think that she is going to put any extra pressure on herself.

“Being her hundredth game as well, I just hope that she remembers that number and can turn that into runs.”

Tomorrow’s World Cup semi-final between South Africa and England gets underway at 3am.

In the first semi-final, Australia, thumped the West Indies by 157 runs in Wellington to book their spot in the final.
