The 4-Day Series champions are targeting a second piece of silverware this season to end their campaign strongly.

While there have been some outstanding individual performances in the 50-over campaign, they are targeting a team effort in the final.

Earlier in the season the Heat won Division 2 of the CSA 4-Day Series for their first piece of silverware for Northern Cape Cricket in over 20 years.

The Heat captain, Aubrey Swanepoel, told OFM Sport that the head coach, Mark Charlton, deserves all the credit for their success.

“It's a good group of guys that has played here for the Heat this season,” said the skipper, who himself impressed with both bat and ball in the season.

“I think that's why all the credit should go to the coach. He has put in all the hard effort to get the team where it is.

“He believed in everyone and it wasn't just a few guys that he picked.

“Everybody else in the team understood their roles in the team and knew what to do to get us where we are now.”

Friday’s final at the Pietermaritzburg Oval gets underway at 10:00.
