Proteas expect wiser Bangladesh at St George's Park─── MORGAN PIEK 08:52 Thu, 07 Apr 2022
The Proteas are expecting Bangladesh to make better use of the local knowledge during the second Test that gets underway on Friday morning in Gqeberha.
The Bangladesh head coach, Russell Domingo, hails from the Friendly City while their new bowling coach, Allan Donald, will also have a good understanding of the pitch and conditions.
South Africa leads the two-Test series 1-0 after winning the first encounter by 220 runs on Monday.
Ryan Rickelton, who made his debut at Kingsmead said he was surprised that they opted to bowl first in Durban.
“Russell Domingo and Allan Donald will have a massive says, especially going into this Test”, said the Lions player.
“Russell being from here and Allan having played a lot of cricket here is valuable insight that I think they really need to exploit.
“I think it will be an unknown ground for the majority of their players, so if you've got someone that lives here and knows the ground like the hand of their hand, I think they really need to invest into what he has to say.”
Play at St George’s Park is scheduled to get underway at 10:00.
