I'm very excited to join the Warriors - Swanepoel─── MORGAN PIEK 08:37 Mon, 25 Apr 2022
The seam bowler, Beyers Swanepoel, is excited to be played first division cricket next season after signing for the Warriors.
The Northern Cape Heat seamer experienced another good season and was instrumental in the team from Kimberley winning the second division 4-Day title.
Swanepoel has long been a stalwart of UFS Kovsies cricket, while he also represented a CSA Invitational XI against England in 2020. In addition he has also played for the Free State and Knights.
The former Proteas spinner and current Warriors coach, Robin Peterson, confirmed the signing of Swanepoel on Friday.
Swanepoel told OFM Sport that he is excited to move up a division and become a part of the Warriors culture.
“I'm very excited to join the Warriors next season, said the 23-year-old cricketer.
“It's always been one of my dreams to play first division cricket in South Africa and to play for the Warriors it's even better.
“I can't wait to start working with coach Robbie Peterson and to be a part of the Warriors culture is something that excites me.
“I'm really looking forward to the new challenges and season.”
Swanepoel arrived in England on Friday to play some club cricket before joining the Warriors in September.
