Proteas tuned in mentally for England series─── MORGAN PIEK 15:00 Mon, 18 Jul 2022
The Proteas men are feeling well-rested and ready for the One-Day International series against England that begins in Chester-Le-Street on Tuesday.
The Proteas haven't played in an ODI series since March when they lost 2-1 to Bangladesh in South Africa.
They did however fine-tune for the upcoming series last week with two one-day warm-up against Paloise the England Lions in Taunton and Worcester.
The Proteas seamer, Lungi Ngidi, believes that they are switched on for the series.
“Any assistance that we can get is going to be useful, said the seamer about the pace attack being assisted by the conditions.
“The batters have tuned their mindset into how the conditions are going to play. All-in-all, our preparation has been good and we have a good and competitive session on Sunday.
“Everyone is pretty much ready for the game mentally, and we know what England is going to bring.
“We are defiantly going to have to raise our intensity to that level in order to make sure that it's a good game.”
Play at the Riverside Ground in Chester-Le-Street is scheduled to get underway tomorrow at 14:00.
