Proteas look to go out with a bang in Derby─── MORGAN PIEK 08:25 Mon, 25 Jul 2022
The Proteas Women will be looking to go out with a bang on Monday when they come up against England in the third and final T20 International.
England won the series on Saturday when they beat South Africa by six wickets in the second game played at New Road in Worcester.
The English also won the first match played in Chelmsford by six wickets.
The Proteas will be looking to build some momentum ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The Proteas batter, Lara Goodall, said it would be nice to end on a high.
“It would be nice to go into the Commonwealth Games with a win behind our names,” said the Proteas batter.
“It's tough being on the losing side for the past few weeks. It's something that we as a team haven't experienced in quite a while.
“We will have to find good ways to deal with it. We know one win and one good performance can turn our fortunes around.
“For the next game, we just want to improve on the one percenters and save another 10 to 15 runs in the field.”
Monday night’s series-dead-rubber in Derby gets underway at 19:30.
