Rossouw was named in the 15-member squad for the tournament that will get underway down-under next month.

The destructive left-hander made his return to international cricket after a six-year hiatus last month during the 2-1 T20 International series over the English in England.

In the series, Rossouw, scored 4, 96* and 31 as South Africa claimed an historic series victory on English soil.

The Convenor of Selectors, Victor Mpitsang told OFM Sport that Rossouw has matured as a player during his Kolpak years.

“We've seen the impact of the players who played overseas and have come back to play for the national team and in domestic cricket," Mpitsang said.

“They know their games and I've seen Rilee play throughout his career, but the roles he played against England were great to see.

“He threw the first punch when we were under pressure, so it's good to see how he's performed, so we hope he continues that good form in the World Cup.”

The Proteas will also be touring India in preparation for the World Cup.
