Knights confident heading into Dragons clash─── MORGAN PIEK 07:41 Tue, 01 Nov 2022
The round-robin stage of the CSA T20 Challenge will conclude in Potchefstroom on Tuesday with the last two games before the semi-finals.
The ITEC Knights will want to bounce back from their 41-run defeat to the Titans on Monday when they go up against the hosts, the North West Dragons.
Despite taking a pounding from Dewald Brevis on Monday, the Knights will be confident heading into the game.
While the Titans scored 271/3 in their allotted 20 overs, 162 of these runs came off the bat of Dewald Brevis, but he was also dropped on the boundary while he was deep in his 90’s.
The Knights, in turn, managed to score 230/9 in their 20 overs, against a very good bowling attack.
A win will ensure the Knights of their place in the semi-finals. Even if they lose, the Knights can still advance.
The Lions will face the Paarl Rocks this evening in the last game, but the team from Johannesburg will need to win with a bonus point to deny the Knights. If the Rocks win and the Knights lose, the team from Bloemfontein will be in the last four.
The match between the Knights and Dragons gets under way at 14:30, while the Lions and Rocks will be in action from 18:00.
