The Proteas have been without a full-time head coach for the past few months after Mark Boucher’s tenure came to an end following the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.

It is believed that Shukri Conrad will be the Proteas' new Test coach, while Rob Walter will be named as the ODI and T20 International coach.

In recent times, Malibongwe Maketa took charge of the team on an interim basis and he took the side to Australia for the three-Test series against the Baggy Greens.

Maketa was also shortlisted for the Test position, but the powers that be, believe Conrad is the better match.

The former Proteas and Dolphins all-rounder, Lance Klusener, was heavily linked with the white-ball job. He was set to be announced as the coach, however, last week he made himself unavailable for the position.

Conrad has coached the South Africa U19 team in recent times, while Walter is a former Titans coach, and he also coached Otago in New Zealand.

The unveiling of the pair of coaches is set to take place at 10:00 on Monday morning.
