The Proteas skipper, Temba Bavuma, has called on his charges to keep up the intensity with the bat during the 3rd and final One-Day International against England in Kimberley on Wednesday.

While the Proteas have already claimed the series, they are still playing to ensure automatic qualification for the upcoming Cricket World Cup in India.

A win will be required, while South Africa will also need to beat the Netherlands 2-0.

On Sunday, David Miller with 58* (off of 37 balls) and Marco Jansen with 32* (off of 29 balls) took South Africa across the line with their unbeaten 65-run partnership during the 2nd ODI.

Bavuma, who scored 109 runs, said he was happy with the way the batters responded in the big run chase, although he felt that the runs could have been scored a bit quicker on the good batting pitch in Bloemfontein.

"Ideally, we would've wanted to finish that game with about two or three overs to go," said Bavuma.

"Marco (Jansen) obviously wasn't always able to get a few of his shots past the fielders and faced some dot balls, but what we liked out there in the dugout is the intent that he still showed.

"We knew the other guys were going to play the same way. David (Miller) again showed his experience and his class. He was there to see it through to the end.

"Everybody chipped in. It was a great team performance."

Play at the Diamond Oval is scheduled to get underway at 13:00 on Wednesday afternoon.
