The winner of the crunch match will earn the right to face the defending champions, Australia, in the final on Sunday in the Mother City.

On Thursday the five-time champions booked their spot in the final for a record 7th time will a thrilling 5-run win over India the shadows of Table Mountain.

The 2nd ranked English are the overwhelming favourites to win the game, however the Proteas believe that they can cause an upset.

The all-rounder, Nadine de Klerk, said as a team they have nothing to lose this afternoon and it will be important to take the game to the confident English.

“It is going to be a good game of cricket and, from a mental aspect, I don’t think we should look at the results of the past,” said the fiery all-rounder.

“I think we should put that aside. It is a World Cup semi-final, and it's in our country. So, from a mental side of things, we must look past that and look to play positive cricket.

“England are a quality side and we’ve played them a lot in the last year or so.

“We know what’s coming. They will come hard and I think we must do the same thing.

“We must fight fire with fire.

“We must just go out there and leave everything out on the field. It’s do-or-die and there are no second chances.”

Friday afternoon’s big semi-final at Newlands gets underway at 15:00.
