This English are confident heading into the five-Test series that will be played in England and they want conditions to play in their favour.

With their aggressive bazz-ball approach to batting and host of good fast bowlers they feel they can beat the Baggy Greens 5-0.

The English captain, Ben Stokes, said they know exactly what they want from the wickets.

“We've been very clear, especially with the ground staff around England about what type of wickets we want,” said the all-rounder in an interview with SkySport.

“They've been very responsive to us which has been good.

“We want fast, flat wickets. We want to go out there and score quickly.

“It brings their guys in - if they've got fast wickets to bowl on then they'll be happy with that as well.”

The 2021/22 Ashes series that was played in Australia was won 4-0 by the Aussies.

The first Ashes Test will start on 16 June at Lords in St. John's Wood.
