Free State Women’s all-rounder Miane Smit has been included in the SA Women’s Emerging team which will play against New Zealand in Pretoria from the 18th to the 22nd of September 2023.
“Smittie” as she is affectionately known by her teammates, is the Head girl at C&N Sekondere Meisieskool Oranje and was part of the SA U/19 Girls team that took part in the ICC u/19 Girls World Cup earlier this year. She is also part of the Free State Women’s team that won promotion to division one at the end of the 2022/23 season.
“I am very grateful to be part of a group of top players and coaches. I am looking forward to taking this opportunity to learn as much as I can and grow as a cricketer,” said Smit.
“Miane has been working really hard this off-season and I can’t be prouder of her for making the team”, commented PJ Jansen, Free State Cricket Women’s Head Coach.
