The ITEC Knights will be targeting a sixth straight win in the CSA One-Day Cup when they face the Limpopo Impalas in Polokwane on Wednesday.

The Knights have a comfortable lead at the top of the Division 2 standings following five back-to-back victories in the 50-over competition.

The Knights have a four-point lead at the top of the table over the SA Emerging side, but they do have a game in hand and have already secured their spot in the final.

The Knights coach, JP Triegaardt, told OFM Sport that they are happy with their position and will focus on the final from next week.

“Going to Polokwane, it's going to be a hard game because they are also playing really good cricket,” said Triegaardt.

“We've need to just focus on what we've been doing all along, but in saying that we also need to just remain humble and keep following our process.

“It's going to be a tough game against Limpopo, but we are definitely up for the challenge.

“As a coach I'm pleased with where we are going, but for now we just want to remain humble and follow our processes.”

Triegaardt that he is over the moon with how each and every player in the squad has contributed to their success this season and this has led to a good culture.

“I'm very pleased and any coach would be to have a start like that,” Triegaardt added.

“You nailed it there by saying that in each and every game someone different contributed and won us the game. That's what a team does.

“The most important thing is the consistency that the guys are delivering at the moment and the culture amongst the players is really good.”

Play in Polokwane is scheduled to get underway at 10:00.
