Piedt excited to link up with the Knights─── MORGAN PIEK 07:52 Mon, 30 Oct 2023
“It's a really exciting part of my career and I am a bit more experienced after having played around the world a bit more and with different cultures.”
The former Proteas spinner, Dane Piedt, will be arriving in Bloemfontein on Monday and link up with the ITEC Knights.
The 33-year-old Piedt joins the Knights ahead of their CSA 4-Day series campaign that gets underway this week.
Piedt has over 400 first-class wickets to his name after previously also having played for the Cape Cobras, Western Province and the South Western Districts.
Until recently the player also plied his trade in the USA where he played for the Washington Freedom and the Morrisville Unity.
Piedt told OFM Sport that he looks forward to the new chapter in his career.
“I'm looking forward to getting to Bloemfontein and making a difference,” said Piedt.
“It's a really exciting part of my career and I am a bit more experienced after having played around the world a bit more and with different cultures.
“For me, regardless of the Division, cricket stays cricket and I'm just hoping to contribute where I can.
“It's going to be exciting to go to Bloemfontein and just play some good cricket. The team seems to be in a very good space after doing well in the One-Day Cup. This is the hardest format of the game, but I'm really looking forward to it.”
The Knights will get their four-day campaign underway on Thursday against the Limpopo Impalas at the Mangaung Oval.
