The ITEC Knights will begin their CSA 4-Day Series campaign in Bloemfontein on Thursday morning when they face the Limpopo Impalas.

The Knights will be targeting another strong campaign as they continue to battle towards gaining promotion to Division 1.

While the Knights fell short in the final of the One-Day Cup, the mood is still upbeat in the camp and they take good momentum and continuity into the four-day competition.

The Knights captain, Patrick Botha, told OFM Sport that they want to continue with their good momentum.

“We got good momentum in the One-Day Cup and it was a good campaign for us, although falling short in the final wasn't great,” said Botha.

“At the end of the day, it was still a good campaign and a big positive was that a lot of guys put up their hands.

“Going into the four-day series now, it's a whole different competition with different plans, but the team has worked well together so far. Our prep has been good and we've got a good balance in the squad.

“There are no format specialist players, so everyone can play in all the formats, which is really nice.

“With Limpopo com here this week, they’ve shown that you can take no team lightly. We've got to adapt to different conditions now and with it being a home game there will be different plans in place.

“We are looking forward to playing against them as well as the new challenge that the four-day campaign will bring.”

Play at the Mangaung Oval is scheduled to get underway at 10:00.
