The North West Dragons will get their CSA 4-Day series campaign underway on Saturday when they face the Warriors in Potchefstroom.

The Warriors are the very same team the Dragons beat to reach the final of the One-Day Cup.

While the Dragons lost to Western Province in the One-Day Cup final, the mood in the camp remains upbeat.

The Dragons will want to take their 50-over momentum into the longer format of the game.

The Dragons captain and Proteas allrounder, Senuran Muthusamy, told OFM Sport that it's important to stick to the basics.

“It just was not meant to be unfortunately in that One-Day Cup final at Newlands, we started the game really nicely and then things went against us,” said the Proteas allrounder.

“It just didn't quite work out, but credit to Western Province, they have just been incredible throughout the entire season and they deserved that victory.

“We managed to beat the Warriors with a bonus point to make the final and then we started our four-day campaign against them this weekend.

“The Warriors have been really good in four-day cricket over the last few years and they have had a couple of tight calls where they've finished in second. I'm sure that it will be a top four-day game this weekend and we will be up for it.

“We're just looking to keep the momentum going and to continue doing the basics well. We just want to grow tighter and play well as a team. We're really looking forward to putting our best foot forward this weekend and starting this campaign on a positive note.”

Play at the JB Marks Oval is scheduled to start at 10:00.
